Plan to attend our Branch Meeting at 9:30 to find out what is planned for this year, receive your new directory of our branch, including new members, meet all our board members, Festival Chairs, and welcome our new members.
Located on our website, www.nsdmtac.com, are the new by-laws for our branch. Please note the required two meetings to retain membership will be enforced this year to insure that our membership is involved with MTAC activities. This does not apply to retired or absentee members. If you cannot meet the two meeting requirement because of a job or school conflict, please let our membership chair, Barbara Menzie,, know as she will be taking roll at the meetings. Please note at least two meetings will in the evening.
We have a new link on our branch website with all the information needed to begin the registration procedures. Registration is now open and closes at 11:59 on November 15. Included this month is a very helpful guide for new teachers, put out by the State CM Coordinator, and gives helpful hints to get started and avoid the most common mistakes. You may also call on our CM Chairs if you have a problem or question. All teachers registering students in Path A will be required to work for a specific amount of time reflected by their enrollment. The work contract can be found in the CM Link as well as a more comprehensive letter explaining the procedures for this year. Please read through the entire letter to teachers before calling as most of the questions are addressed in the letter.
Teachers must keep their information current on our website updated at nsdmtac.com. Please correct phone numbers, and e-mails. Julia Klaerich will be adding the new members on the website as the administrator. If any teachers have problems with their passwords, or anything else, they can contact Julia by e-mail at JKlaerich@adelphia.net. She can answer their questions, or fix any problems. It is of utmost importance that you have a current email address and keep up with the emails sent to you by our communication chair and 1st Vice President, Anne Neesby. She will be contacting anyone whose emails bounce back. Make sure the email from her are not going to a filter as this is the only way you will know the most current updates for CM and other events.
Popular Festival
The popular festival will be held on October 21st at the Dove Library Auditorium in Carlsbad. This event is shaping up to be a fun day for students and their families. We will be asking for a $5.00 donation per FAMILY – and this is purely voluntary!
– please register your students as soon as possible on the website nsdmtac.com so that we can plan the recitals. There is a limit of 9 students per teacher, but we will raise this limit if we have room. The registration deadline is October 10. Make sure that your teacher contact information is current. Mail your printout and check to Julia Klaerich, 7760 El Camino Real #B, Carlsbad, CA 92009. E-mail me with questions at JKlaerich@adelphia.net.
Please send in your donation and ad to be included in the program to Phyllis Bouck as soon as possible. We would love to have 100% participation by the teachers in our branch for this important fund-raising event. The suggested donation for an ad is between $50.00 and $75.00, but we will take any amount that is within your budget! If you do not have a business card, create a simple one on the computer, or we will do it for you! Be sure to encourage your studio families to donate to this worthy cause of “music lessons for needy students”.
. Our first Musicale will be on Novemeber 5, 1:30 PM at Greene Music, 1122 Los Vallecitos Blvd., San Marcos.
The registration will be done on-line. The $10 fee should be sent to me, Phyllis Bouck 13134 Ave. La Valencia, Poway 92064, by Saturday Oct. 28th.
Any questions call Phyllis at 858-485-7727.
For new teachers, this is a great venue for young or new students to get used to performing in a more relaxed atmosphere. If your studio is small and still growing, this is a wonderful way to offer recitals to your parents.
New Active Members: Erin Breene, Lindsay Brooks, Rachel Beohm, Yevgeniya Nisman,
